Hems Africa CEO ,Ngoni Paradzai Lifts Platinum Businessman of the year award trophy at Megafest Business Awards 2019

Hems Africa, in pursuit of its growth strategy is fully functional in three strategic business units namely structural and mechanical engineering, industrial and mining supplies and equipment and mobile cranes hire as well as skilled labour hire.

The Bulawayo workshop and offices situated at 21 Khami Rd are now complimented with the new workshop and offices in Harare Workington area situated at 35 Paisley Rd and Cnr Stirling Rd.
Hems Africa has successfully executed major projects such as refurbishment of the new Chibuku Super – flow plant at Delta Fairbridge Bulawayo (structural steel work) and the 10 000 seater Harvest House International Auditorium steel structure. The other project in this category involved, the supply of new and refurbishment of old floation cells over 18 in number for a large platinum mining house.

Hems Africa has also done other notable projects like the fabrication and installation of the main flotation shed steelwork complete with sheeting and cladding at RioZim. Rig out and relocation of the sugar processing plant & fabrication insitu of stainless steel storage tanks for Star Africa. Supply, fabrication, delivery and erection of architectural steelwork at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo airport Presidential canopy among other projects.
The Hems Africa achievements will be incomplete without mentioning the many young engineers and technicians from the local universities and colleges who have been trained in this organisation and are scattered within and outside Zimbabwe.

The visionary, passionate, aggressive and disruptive engineering practitioner NH Paradzai has not stopped dreaming yet, his sight is set to conquer the sub region (SADC) before he conquers the whole of Africa. Ngonidzashe Herpson Paradzai is the platinum winner of the Businessman of the year award for the Southern Region Mega Fest 2019 awards. He started his career late in the 1980s and worked for various big engineering companies like OSC Process Engineering (UK) and various local engineering firms before he registered his own company in 1999. In the early years Paradzai started off doing Projects Management Consultancy for engineering firms in Zimbabwe under the umbrella of Hems Africa and has been instrumental in growing it to become a force to reckon with as we see it today.

Closely linked to this Hems Africa Engineering success story is Mr. Jotamu Mutanda who also won the gold Strategic Leader of the year award for Southern Region Mega Fest 2019 Awards. Mutanda is a seasoned Engineering Administrator with over 25 years’ experience in the Engineering Industry. In his career progression Jotamu also worked for large Bulawayo Engineering companies where he operated in various capacities. He finally Joined Hems Africa Engineering in 2009 and is currently holding the position of a General Manager.

The company provides mobile cranes ranging from 18 ton, 25 ton, 30 ton and 60 ton in size. As a structural and mechanical engineering company, Hems Africa is also involved in heavy plant maintenance were they are contracted to provide maintenance services in mines and processing plants establishments. In line with this, the company also hires out skilled labour such as boiler makers, pipe fitters, fitter and turners, riggers, welders (coded), sheeters, steel erectors and electricians.
Shop fabrication of structural steelwork, platework, pipework medium to large bore steel piping, tanks, storage vessels, water tanks, petroleum tanks and chutes is done at their two workshops in Harare and Bulawayo.
